WAC | Artists and Communities at the Crossroads Walker Art Center: Artists & Communities at the Crossroads A front-page article in the October 18, 1997 New York Times described Minneapolis as one of the nation's most rapidly changing cities. The Walker Art Center is located at the crossroads of these demographic changes. The neighborhoods situated within a two-mile radius of the Walker represent the Twin Cities' increasingly diverse populations and provide the greatest opportunities for engagement across cultures, economic strata, and artistic disciplines.
